I just got my new 600 watt Coby Home Theater system in the mail! I hooked everything up to spec. and I can figure out why the system is only playing on a couple speakers? The sub-woofer is not even working??? Any ideas for the controls?? the systems is new from the box and its a Coby DVD938 5.1 channel system??? Thanks for any real feed back!

Only the DVD will have surround sound information, the rest are in stereo (2 channel).

the time spent here coulda gotten it resolved on the customer service line.

It is configure in stereo mode. Read again and look for the audio set-up menu.

Those other 2 answers are not helpful at all are they... Since I am not able to actually be there and see exactly how it is all hooked up these are a few things you can check. Are the settings set up correctly? You might be trying to play through some stereo option or don't have all your channels allowed. You should play around with the settings.

Is everything hooked up correctly through the inputs? What sort of connections are going into it? an HDMI cable? fiber optic? RCA? An RCA cable with this may not work with 5.1 if I am not mistaken. The only thing those cables can carry is left and right speakers. Just keep playing with it and make sure you're playing something that utilizes the 5.1 setup while trying to get it to work. Like a bluray movie or something.

Other than that definately give customer service a call
