My action replay dsi pokemon platinum codes aren't working.?

When i boot the codes in they don't work.I put in the 1 hit kill code and it didn't work,but when it does work it will kill them but it still makes me fight them even though there is no pokemon there.I was using that code to battle Cyrus to get Giritina and i killed his pokemon,but the he used full restore,so i killed it again and he withdrew him and the game froze.Its very frustrating.
