I have burnt discs from downloaded torrent streams, xvid,divx,x264,H264, and avi, but my Philips DVD Player, Model 3120, wont play them. Which torrent stream downloads are acceptable

For example: I have a standard dvd player, it will not play avi files. I also have a dvd recorder. It will play avi files. My brother has a dvd player that has divx codecs. His sill play avi files. So it depends on the dvd player. If it says divx on the side, then it should play them.
