My PS3 won't play blue ray discs or PS3 games.?

It plays PS1 games and DVDs with no problems. I don't have a PS2 game to try. It starts to play PS3 games and blue rays but then just stops. I can still exit out to the menu. Called Sony, did quick format, full format, and system restore all to no avail. Sony wants $150 to look at it. Anyone have any idea what is wrong that I could possibly fix myself for less than $150? Thanks!
 
do you still have your warranty if you do then your good
but if you dont then just sell it and get a new one
but i really think that 150 is to much i know that all your saved info is on there see if you can save it in something and with you can switch it to a new one
 
maybe try to blow all the dust out of it.... other than that i would say either send it away or buy a new one
