Get him one of those special 'adventure experiences' gifts. They do one for pot-holing, moving horizontally in an entrance the width of an average body and very little headroom. No means of turning back. Frankly, that is my worst nightmare, but it will be a good experience for him and you will be in his good books.

Type up a pretend story and put it in a newspaper, remember it has to look like it belongs there. The story should go something like. Government reveals many people may have been buried alive due to proper checks not being carried out to determine wether someone is dead or not. You can of course tweak and adjust it as you like, that's just the basic idea. Good luck, hopefully they will have nightmares after it.
