What's a good Free dvd and blu-ray ripping program?

I have windows 7. I'm looking for a completely free program that will let me rip my dvd and Blu-ray movies so I can put them onto my network attached storage? What's a good program for me to use. I heard you can do it with vlc player but does that program degrade sound or video quality? I'd rather have larger files than lower quality.

You may want to try for ripping IMGburn, direct write, or daemon tools light. All available on download.com which is Garunteed to be spyware free.
