what output formats are best? I am trying to learn to convert and burn wmv/avi video that I have on my pc to play on my home DVD player, I have a converter that has various output choices. What do most DVD players read? I don't know what formats they work on so don't know what file type to convert to. Thanks.

i think you willing to auto play from you DVD if yes so you cannot do this untill the video have and iso image or GUI
it would be nice if you convert wmv into MP4 or AVI format

Hi.

Burning a movie to play on a standard dvd player is not just the case of copying files of a particular format to disc.

Structure is required .

What you need to know is what format the particular burning software you are going/intending to use will except then let the software encode/convert and burn to disc.

For example Windows DVD Maker will except WMV and AVI and the finished disc will play on any standard DVD player.

Also with every conversion quality is lost so the less steps you can take the better.

PS You say what formats are best ?
Well there is only one ,if you want the movie to play on a standard DVD player.
And that would be Vob files contained in a VIDEO_TS folder.
