Why won't my DVD player play my burned DVD home movies?

My DVD player (a new Samsung within the past 2 years) will NOT play the home movies I have burned from my computer onto a DVD disk.

I am burning the home movies at a 2.4x speed (the lowest my computer will go)
I have an HP laptop that is only 2 years old
I am using DVD+R dvd's

What isthe problem?! I am getting SO incredibly frustrated!!!

Insert one of these DVDs that will not play into your computer's disk drive. Explore this DVD, one it the first screen you see should have a folder on it titled VIDEO_TS, if that is not there, you are mot using DVD burning software to burn a DVD. If it is there, open that folder and go to my site, I have posted in response to another question, but it has a image of what the files should be named for a DVD to work.
