i am 17,a light smoker,i smoke about 2 cigarettes a day. and i workout too. does smoking before working out has any effects? will it make the workout effort useless for my body? any type of effect it will cause on my muscles ??

I have been working out at the gym for between 1-2 hours 3 days a week with rest days in-between, should it be ok for me to swim on the rest days? (would it affect the work i am doing with weights and the building of muscle)?
