My Blu ray player was working fine until my flatmate plugged her laptop into it using the white and yellow cables to play music, now when a DVD or blu ray is put in to play all we hear is the background noises. The voices are really quiet and muffled. Have tried all different settings, checked all speakers they are fine. Sky plays fine through the sound system using optical input so I know the speakers are working. I think it may have something to do with multi channel audio and 5.1 something, and DTS dolby Digital because when I select audio on some dvds the voices come back but then theres a running commentary from a director or producer of the film im watching. Please help :)

What happened is she probably bumped one of the wires. I would check all the cables, if you have the manual for the TV check that your cables are plugged in correctly. You could also unplug all cables, and restor the factory settings on the Tv and DVD player and then start plugging all the cables back in. It seems like the connection for the center speaker is the issue (where most voice comes from)
