Will my 52inch 720p Plasma play good Blue ray movies on the ps3?

I bought this tv a week ago, and I had my ps3 since it came out the original 20gb But never bought blue ray movies, So i'm wondering will i can still play clear crisp movies on a 720p tv?
At emperor, I bought this tv for 750, so I think it was a good deal,
I wanted the sony 52inch 1080p but it was sold out and it cost 1,200
 
well it will play but of course its not going to look as sharp as the 1080i picture tv's but it would be better then the sd obviously. Blu ray movies dont look any different unless there being watched in hd
 
if you have an hdmi cable then yes you can the best resolution is 1080p witch is better then 720p but it will still give you good quality.
 
when getting a tv you should have got an 1080p for anything over 40inches.Not all films run at this and most run at 720p which look great on smaller tv's .plus it's down to the type and make of the tv.Download a movie trailer at 720p or HD from the psn store and try that first.
